Suggest Treatment For Severe Joint Pain
At the end of July I hit a volleyball about an inch in from pointer and thumb triangle. It hasn t gotten better but worse. Now my thumb joint locks and it is becoming much more painful. This past Friday, I saw a PT for an unrelated issue and he said I may have torn a ligament. Thoughts?

Here your physical examination should be done to do further work up...
Muscular strain or ligament injury might be the cause....
If pain, swelling present along with limited movement than fracture also can be the cause...
Local part x ray in both view should be taken.... To rule out fracture....
If needed compression bandage might be prescribed...
Ibuprofen taken for five days if muscle strain present

Advise : Orthopedic surgeon consultation for examination and further work up
