Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Hi. I have been waking up with extremely bad pain on the outsides of my hips. Sometimes it is the left sometimes the right and sometimes it is both of them. It is difficult to walk and climb stairs especially in the morning and it feels like its bruised when i touch it, but no visible bruising. I have tried stretches before and after bed and nothing seems to be helping.
Treatment of the pain in the hips depends on how long these pains have been there and on your age or presence of recent trauma.
If you have the pain for just a couple of weeks, please try to take some paracetamol and ibuprofen to help with the pain and if no improvement in a few days or any worsening you will need to see a doctor.
If the pain has been there for longer then 2-3 weeks or you had a recent trauma you will need to see a doctor in these cases as well.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards, Dr. Antoneta Zotaj General & Family Physician
