Suggest Treatment For Severe Hip Pain

During my two pregnancies, I received steroid shots in my hips to help babies lungs. Now 21 yrs later after first baby and 14 years after the second. I have severe hip pains in both hips, never at same time. The pain is almost like a burn deep inside and ibuprofen helps, but not enough. I am afraid the seteriods may have done damage is that possible?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,

There is no question that the injection 14 years back should cause this problem. The problem mostly is caused by pinch nerve and many times would resolve in sometimes. Physiotherapy and painkiller may help.

See your doctor if it did not resolve in a few weeks or if the pain is too severe or associated with weakness or incontinence.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Mahboob Ur Rahman,
