Suggest Treatment For Severe Headaches And Slow Speech

My daughter has been having problems. It starts with a headache in the back of her head. Then she feels funny . Said she feels like she has cotton in her head. Has to really think to form a thought and her speech is very slow. Her arms and legs are very heavy. We have had her blood pressure checked and it is good. Ran as CT scan and it was normal. Do you have any suggestions as to what this could be?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

If the CT scan of the head is normal then it is unlikely the headache is related to any dangerous condition of the brain.
I would recommend you to have some basic tests such as TSH, FT4, CBC, ERS, basic metabolic profile, etc.

If all come normal then very likely she has a tension headache or migraine headache, which together account of over 90% of headaches.

I hope this answers your query. I remain at your disposal in case further medical assistance is needed.
