Suggest Treatment For Severe Headache And Fever

Hi. My usually very healthy 67-year-old husband is completely knocked out (asleep). He has a terrible headache and a very low temperature of 97.5. This hit him rather suddenly this afternoon and he went straight to bed. Any idea what might be going on? Thank you.

Hello,

A severe headache with fever may be due to infection like viral fever or enteric fever or cerebral malaria or metabolic encephalopathy etc.

Until examination is done it is difficult to say what it is.

Please get it done a complete blood count, blood pressure examination, urine examination and malaria.

Use tablet Paracetamol.

If symptoms not improved please consult your doctor he will examine and treat you accordingly.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
