Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service.
I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.
Yes, the new medicine, carvedilol, may cause
diarrhea as a side effect. Diarrhea is also the common side effect of OFEV (Nintedanib drug).
You may try to decrease the severity of diarrhea by avoiding spicy foods, fried and oily foods, milk products and beverages that contain caffeine and alcohol.
But, if diarrhea is severe (you may experience
dizziness or
fever) and you feel dehydrated, then contact your doctor.
You may be prescribed a medicine
Loperamide to stop diarrhea or decrease the dose of the medicine that you are taking or change it (either carvedilol or OFEV) to a different one.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Malik Amonov
