Suggest Treatment For Severe Back Pain And Lump In The Fingers

Yesterday I noticed a localized pain on the right side of my back. Just under the ribcage and slightly above love-handle fatty area. After probing around the painful area with my hand, I felt a small lump there (about half an inch in diameter). When i pinpointed the lump and pressed against it it produced more pain (not severe pain but pain nonetheless). The lump is not visible but can be felt, there are no visible protrusions, and I cannot always find it it takes a bit of probing around to pinpoint it. It seems to be deep under the skin. When I press against the lump with my finger, the pain I get feels quite similar to pushing against a large acne pimple. Although I m almost certain its not acne as its in an odd spot and producing much more pain than acne pimples. At the current time the area of the lump is uncomfortable and has a dull ache feel to it, exacerbated by pressing against the lump.

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hello,

As first-line management, you can take analgesics like Paracetamol or Aceclofenac for pain relief.

If symptoms persist better to consult an orthopedician and plan for an MRI scan to rule out spine related problems.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Shinas Hussain,
