General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello and welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service.
I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

There is no cure for seizures. It is caused due to electrical abnormality in brain due to altered chemicals. The medications administered would help to suppress the unwanted electrical activity and helps to prevent seizures from happening. However, even with regular treatment, there could be one or two episodes of occurence of seizures.

With regular treatment, depending on the cause, the dose of medication can be altered under strict supervision and stopped over a period of time by tapering at a much later date. Remember, seizures are not contagious and is not hereditary in nature.

Hope the information provided would be helpful. et me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Ashakiran S
