Suggest Treatment For Sarcomatoid Carcinoma Involving The Bladder Muscle
hi doctor my father in law is 73 years of age he was recently diagnosed with bladder cancer when he complained of hematuria the urologist performed a cystoscopy and the histopathology (IHC) report was postive for Sarcomatoid Carcinoma involving the bladder muscle the PET CT scan was performed and found that the active disease s limited to the bladder he was discharged from the hospital, today he is again complaining of bleeding what do we do
First of all, it's sad to know what your father in law had been going through lately. Based on the history you have shared, he may need surgical intervention and chemotherapy as well as radiotherapy.
A surgical oncologist should better be consulted. Meanwhile OTC analgesics like acetaminophen can be given for pain. Drinking more water to avoid blood clot leading to urinary retention is recommended.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Take care
Regards,
Dr Saddiq Ulabidin, General & Family Physician
