Hello!! I had an otitis media and i ended up suffering an eardrum rupture said the doctor that i visited! He prescribed some antibiotics, ear drops. Im suffering severe hearing loss from my left ear, i also hear this buzz i think its tinnitus and also i hear this echo in my ear, like people are talking to me from distance! Is this normal accordinng to my conditions? Will this improve with time? Why do i hear an echo? Thank you for your help and support in advance

HI, thanks for using healthcare magic

A ruptured ear drum would normally heal in 6 to 8 weeks though in some cases it can take up to 3 months.

During this time it is possible to have hearing loss, tinnitus and abnormal sounds such as an echo.

These should normally resolve after the ear drum has healed.

I hope this helps
