Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I have ruptured my ear drum about a year ago and ever since my ear has bleed and released puss and fluid. It also inflames my tonsils and enlarges my adnoids which I m getting removed soon, I have been to a local gp again yesterday as I am in a lot of pain and blood and discharge is now coming out of my other ear, they gave me antibiotics but nothing has work and I m still in so much pain, please help
It would take a few days for the antibiotics to start working effectively so if you started them yesterday, no effect would have been noted as yet.
At this stage you would need to combine pain killers with the antibiotics. Anti inflammatory pain killers may work best for you. Examples are ibuprofen, naproxen, cataflam, ketofen
If there has been no response after 2 to 3 days then it would be best for you to be reviewed by your doctor.
I hope this helps
