Suggest Treatment For Red Rashes On The Chest And Arm

Hi! Yesterday I noticed a red rash starting to appear in my chest and my arms... today when I woke up it was really evident in both my arms, my chest and my thighs... I had a cold about three days ago, but I haven t had any fever or any other symptom... I m wondering if the rash could be caused by something I ate. Thanks!

Thanks for your question on Healthcare Magic.
I can understand your concern.
Possibility of post viral skin rashes is more.
You had viral infection (cold) 3 days back. So these rashes can be due to viral infection.
Another possibility is allergic skin rashes. Allergy can be due to anything like food items, chemicals, pollens, dust etc.
In my opinion, you should start combination of anti histamine (levocetrizine or fexofenadine) and anti allergic (montelukast).
Apply steroid containing cream (mometasone) on skin lesions.
Avoid dust and pollution. Drink plenty of fluids orally and keep yourself hydrated.
Do all these for 2-3 days and you will mostly improve. If you are not improving then consult dermatologist.
Hope I have solved your query. I will be happy to help you further. Wish you good health. Thanks.
