Suggest Treatment For Red, Inflamed Blood Blister On Toe

My husband noticed a little blister on the side of his big toe about 3 days ago. It has since grown into a blood blister looking raised hard oblong dark blue thing that looks terrible but does not hurt. His toe is red and enflamed but has not been uncomfortable. We are concerned about frost bite and wondering if he should soak it in epsom salts until he can get some antibiotics and what can this mean?

Orthopaedic Surgeon, Joint Replacement 's  Response
Hello,
I have studied your case and I think you should first see a doctor as soon as possible. This can be serious and I would not recommend applying any thing with out showing it to doctor.
Some time these blisters can also be insect bite or allergic reaction.
Your doctor will treat it with antibiotic, anti allergic according to clinical examination.
I hope this answer will be useful for you.Let me know if there is any other followup questions.
Thanks
