Suggest Treatment For Recurring High Fever While Having Diabetes

My Daughter had a runny nose this evening. So, I used a nasal spray to help clear the sinus. It apeared to work....But later the dripping returned with a slight fever (91.0). I gave her 12.5 mls of Tylenol and monitored her for the next couple hours. The fever incresed to 102.0. I cooled her off, and the fever subsided. Since then it has returned and subsided twice with cooling. I believe it has broken now....She is sleeping. My main concern is..She is a Type 1 diabetic, and also has also been diagnosed with absence seizures (For which she takes medication daily) Should I have her seen first thing in the morning, or is the high fever (from whatever cause) a reason to get her directly to a Emergency Facility tonight, even though she seems to to be resting well now?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,

In case she has absence type of seizures & she is taking prescribed medicine daily with no seizure in last 15 days. She can continue the medicines for the seizures & wait for the response of your home management for fever. In case fever returns to high degree, she may need antibiotic & then take her to your family doctor. A well controlled seizure has no other risk while the treatment is taken regularly. In case she is relieved of her complaints, she can skip family visit to family doctor & go for a routine check up to her neuro-physician.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
