I had inguinal hernia and varicosel opp 5 years ago. However sometimes I have been having a recurring hydrocele on my left testicule. While most time it took 1-2 days and cured itself, now I have the same problem for more than 3 days with not much imrpovement. My question is what can I do to manage the pain while I wait a bit longer in case it cures itself again. Would ejaculation at this stage reduce the pressure in the testicule?
Hi. Noted your history and understood your concerns. Such problems need assistance in the form of medicines to get cured, they FO not heal on its own Ejaculation helps only if the problem is due to epididymo-orchitis. Appearance of recurrent hydrocele indicates that there is part of the sac of hernia near the testis that is left behind after surgery for complete type of hernia where its opening has got partially obliterated. Permanent cure can be achieved by a small surgery to every the opening. And may help for cure. Ultrasonography during the swelling stage helps for proper diagnosis.
