Suggest Treatment For Recurrent Flu Infection With Pain And Nausea

Hello Doctor, Let s see if you can figure this out. I ve had many tests, seen several Doctors and no one seems to figure out what I have. Symptoms come almost every year at this time (usuallyJune) it started several years ago. I first get a sore throat - almost like strep. It immediately goes to the bottoms of my feet and palms of my hands - they have shooting pain, nerve shooting pain. I cant walk, and everything hurts. No diabetes has shown up in tests, they don t think it s that. (had nerve testing, mris, xrays, bloodwork) This year I suffered all week - extreme pain in whole body - overcome with nausea, sweating, almost like how hot flashes happen - but severe that I feel like it s the flu, it passes, but comes back over and over throughout the day and night - not getting much sleep - everythings on fire. - Can you think of something this could be? I do have fibromyalgia (diagnosed in 1994) and have had lyme disease 3 times. I am 56 years old, female and usually am active - but cannot do anything with thisgoing on.

Hi,

I do not see your symptoms as a case of flu. The symptoms may be definitely related to fibromyalgia or some anxiety and/or depression. You may try some anxiolytic/anti-depressive under guidance of some psychiatrist.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Satnarain Bansal, General & Family Physician
