Suggest Treatment For Rectal Bleeding And Severe Pain

My daughter is in severe pain, has rectal bleeding and has passed a small grape size chunk of flesh, looked solid, like a piece of her intestine. She went to the hospital and they did a CT, urine sample and gave her morphine. Everything came back normal, so they are giving her an order for a colonoscopy and sending her home with pain meds. Im very frustrated and worried! Shouldn t they have done some blood work or maybe an ultrasound of her belly?? Any thoughts?

Welcome to health care magic,

bleeding during defection since long time could be due to piles,fissures, fistula or rarely any growth in rectum etc.

Your daughter must get examined by surgeon to rule out above possibilities.

She may need to undergo complete blood counts,ESR,blood electrolytes,ultrasound of abdomen and rectal examination to find out the actual cause.

She may require to take quinolones antibiotics with antiprotozoals with following measures.

1) Anovate or Dobesil cream or ointment to be applied over anus after defecation,
2) Hot seitz bath,
Sit naked in warm water for 15 minutes
3) Avoid alcohol,
4) Avoid oily and spicy foods.
