Suggest Treatment For Rash Like Infection In Armpits

I have a rash or infection on one of my armpits. The top layer of skin has come off and it is red and has an odor. Can I use an antifungal cream or should I use cortisone cream? I have just finished two rounds of antibiotics for bronchitis. This began about the time I started second round of antibiotics.

Thanks for your query at HCM.
It sounds like a bacterial infection. It could also be a combined fungal + bacterial infection. So DO NOT use Cortisone cream at all costs. It is a steroid which can make the bacterial and fungal infection worse. Apply combined Antibacterial + Antifungal cream (without steroid in the formulation)twice daily for 1 week. Each day wash the area with warm saline water, allow the area to dry and then apply the cream. After one week if you are still experiencing no decrease in symptoms, please consult again.
If you have finished 2 rounds of antibiotics, it is very advisable to take probiotics like Lactobacillus. This will restore your gut flora and help you better fight off infections. Take care and stay healthy.
