Suggest Treatment For Prolonged Bleeding After Taking Primolut N

I have been on primolut n 3 tabs a day from 2nd day to 21st day of my cycle, for last 8 months. I have adenomyosis. Things were fine, but this month my bleeding did not stop. It was not heavy but is still going on for the last 2 weeks, in spite of taking primolut n, 3 tabs a day. I stopped primolut n today. Please advice.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi

I suggest you to take Combined estrogen-progestin birth control pills or vaginal rings after discussing with your Doctor. These medications can lessen heavy bleeding and pain associated with adenomyosis.

Progestin-only contraception, such as an intrauterine device, or continuous-use birth control pills often lead to amenorrhea - the absence of your menstrual periods.

In case of severe bleeding that does not reduce with hormonal treatment, surgical removal of uterus may be required.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards
