Suggest Treatment For Pressure In Ear With Muffled Hearing
Hi, I ve been on holiday and a couple of days ago I noticed my hearing was a bit muffled and I was feeling some pressure in my ear. I figured out that I had some water in my ear most likely from the pool. I managed to get the water out but now my hearing is still muffled. I ve been putting some over the counter eardrops in every now and then, and I ve just noticed now for the first time a tiny spot of blood has trickled out with the drops. I have no pain at all and hearing is still a little muffled. I m due to fly home tomorrow and I m a little concerned.
HI. Thanks for an elucidate history. The blood trickling and muffled sound is suggestive that you had a typical infection of the middle ear although there was no pain. Now the eardrum has ruptured and might have caused the bleeding. You need medicines like Amoxicilin with Clav and supportive anti-inflammatory and antihistamine. Nasal decongestant drops before you take a flight to avoid further complications.
