Suggest Treatment For Pneumonia

My mother in law is 86 and up until 6 weeks ago her memory was excellent. she is on morphine patches for pain for brittle bones and a curve in her spine, causing her pain of the patches were a big help she is on them about 4 years. she began to forget and get confused a few weeks ago and went to the hospital for checks , bloods ct scan etc, but last week she was admitted with pneumonia and her memory has in the last week has gone from bad to worse, could it be the pneumonia? she has just finished I week is antibiotics

I really appreciate your concern, because of the febrile condition due to pneumonia infection such cerebral effect is very likely which could affect the memory, and this not because of antibiotic, in geriatric patient such phenomenon is very common this may comes to normal as soon as the infection cured, have a nice day.
