Suggest Treatment For Pneumonia And Emphysema

hi checked the 10 possible ways to determine pneumonia got same thing as last year, was told bronchitis, and start of emphsema, this year he says pneumonia. my problem is loss of breath, bad bad cough, when i walk it makes me cough, when i sit quiet i don t except first thing in morning and at night when i lay down i am 72 female

Thanks for your question on HCM.
In my opinion you should consult pulmonologist and get done
1. Chest x ray (recent)
2. CT thorax
3. PFT (pulmonary function test)
Chest x ray and CT thorax are needed to rule out recurrent pneumonia. CT gives much better idea about pneumonia present or not.
PFT will be needed to diagnose bronchitis. It will also tell you about severity of the disease. And for treatment, severity is needed. You may need inhaled bronchodilators too. So consult pulmonologist and discuss all these.
Also get done ECG as breathlessness on lying down is seen in cardiac cause too.
