Hi,
Thanks for posting in HCM.
Plantar fascia is the flat band of tissue (ligament) that connects your heel bone to your toes. It supports the arch of your foot.
Plantar fasciitis is caused by straining the ligament that supports your arch and is the most common cause of heel pain.
Most people who have plantar fasciitis recover with conservative treatments in few months. The treatment modalities include:
1. Analgesics - Diclofenac sustained release tablets twice a day after food.
2. Stretching and strengthening exercises by means of physiotherapy.
3. Application of tropical Diclofenac gel.
4. Extracorporeal shock wave therapy.
5. Prosthesis for heal and arch support like Arch Wrap or Heel Guard.
Hope the information provided would be useful. All the best.
