Suggest Treatment For Pimples On Face When On Clindamycin

My dentist perscribed Clindamycin HCL 300mg to take every 8 hours. Since taking the antibiotic my face and neck have broken out in zits(little pin needle white heads) my face is raised with these zits. Is this a side effect? And once you stop taking the antibiotic will the zits clear up on there own and if so how long does the antibiotic stay in your system?

Hi

Clindamycin is an antibiotic and it acts as a bacteriostatic and limits the growth of the bacteria and helps the body immunity to combat the infection. It is one of the preferred drug used to treat acne

Rare side effers are

-     Cracks in the skin
-     loss of heat from the body
-     red, swollen skin scaly skin

white heads may not be directly related to clindamycin side effect and however for your information after oral administration of clindamycin hydrochloride, elimination half-life is increased to approximately 4.0 hours (range 3.4 to 5.1 h) in the elderly compared to 3.2 hours (range 2.1 to 4.2 h) in younger adults

After you stop taking the tablets the effect will not be for more than 2 days

Follow the below steps to help you getting the faster relief from your acne

Practicing Good Skin Care

-     Keep your Skin Hygenic - Whiteheads (closed comedones): occur when dirt or excess oil (sebum) is trapped below the skin's surface, forming a firm white bump. So wash it with mild soap regularly atleast 3-4 times daily

-     Quit smoking(if you are a smoker)

-     Avoid Touching your face

-     Use oil free moisturizer

Improving Your Diet

-     Avoid Sweets
-     Eat Papaya, Spinach
-     Take Zinc tablets – as it an antioxidant
-     Drink Green tea
-     Vitamin A, C

Apply Aloevera Gel

Daily apply aloe vera gel liberally over your skin. You can find it at most drug stores. Aloe vera is a succulent plant with antibacterial properties that are effective in treating acne and reducing inflammation. It prevents bacteria from infecting acne wounds and speeds up the healing process

Some people may be allergic to aloe. If a rash develops, stop using it and speak with your healthcare provider

Do regular exercise/walking for 45 minutes-improves blood circulation

Mediation as per your age (Eg: 10 years age-10 minutes mediation) as it will
reduce stress and improve immunity

Wish You Good Health
