Suggest Treatment For Persistent Throat Pain

(female, 23 years old) My throat hurts for almost a month already. It hurts especially every morning and there were times that my saliva/phlegm has blood spots. A room with cold temperature would make my throat hurt even more. Whenever my tongue would touch the back part of my mouth, it feels like it is dry and sore. Sometimes I would experience hoarseness of my voice. I consulted a pulmonologist last two weeks ago because of difficulty of breathing and my lungs are clear so he speculated that it is asthma and he prescribed this inhaler called flutiform (one puff/twice a day - for two months). I did notice that my throat hurts even more whenever i used that flutiform so i stopped. I drink alcohol occasionally but i do not smoke. I live in the city so I am exposed to pollution from vehicles and smoke from cigarettes.

HI, thanks for using healthcare magic

It is possible since you are having blood, dryness, pain and hoarseness that you may have post nasal drip of mucus.
One medical study showed 1 out of 5 persons with a drip are not aware of the drip itself.

It tends to cause worse symptoms with a decrease in temperature and they are also worse in the mornings, mainly because temps tend to be at least slightly lower then.

You can consider trying an anti histamine/decongestant combination. This can take 2 to 3 weeks to take effect unfortunately eg zyrtec d, claritine d, allegra d
Combining with singulair or ketotifen would help it to work faster.

I hope this helps
