Suggest Treatment For Persistent Swelling In The Ankles

I have swelling in both the ankels. I was on medicines for some time 10mg diuretic. Now I am on stockings. But the swelling is not completely reduced.I hve to sit and work for longer hours in the office. Is there any vibrators are there which can reduce the pain and swelling.

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hello,

* The persistent sitting position for hours may be a major cause of concern for dependent edema of both ankles with underlying vascular or lymphatic channel insufficiency to reverse the blood flow towards heart.

Kindly get a doppler ultrasound done at first instance after prescription of your doc and get further guidelines in this matter of edema.

Because many of the cases do not respond to diuretic due to various reasons.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
Dr. Bhagyesh V. Patel, General Surgeon
