Suggest Treatment For Persistent Sinus Infection, Nasal Discharge And Pain In Right Side Of Body

I have no short question and I m pretty sure I wont find answer to this as I ve seen many people suffering from similar problems on other forums. When I was about one and half years old I almost died, I was very sick and seen many different doctors and specialists. Finally I found a doctor that found out I had pathogenic ecoli and was eventually cured. Then when I as younger I would say about 6-7 I suffered from over 100 bouts of strep throat. Fast forward to my early twenties, I havemy tonsils removed and n more bouts with strep ( maybe one). Shortly after I started having chronic sinus infections and I mean really bad ones. I had one sinus surgery which didn t work. Fast forward about 15 years throughout which I was having sinus ifection the entire time massive doses of every antibiotic you could think of. Then last year had one surgery, didn t work.. Then had another.. Didnt work.. I use to workout as much as I could but could at most put three moths straight in the gym before having to stop due to these infections. Now I came back once this year for two months and got another really bad infection. It s been months since then went to another ENT had all the scans done and he sent me to an allergist. I m allergic to everything but dogs and cockroaches.. Took all the allergy pills and no relief. I m going to start a dairy, wheat, gluten and processed food fre diet as I think I may have issues with these and it seems to be my last option. I m in chronic pain, no energy and losing hope. The strange thing is it s always only on my right side and sometimes if I tilt my head to the left, I have a huge drainage discharge from my nose. The last ent said I looked open and he didn t see any anatomical issues. If that was the case why only my right side then? I always sleep on my back or try to sleep on my left side but cat for long because I have a bum shoulder. If I sleep on my right side I will have a sinus infection even faster. If any doctor likes a challenge here you go. Not one person has been able to solve this nightmare . Thank you for your time, god bless

Hi,
Welcome to health care magic,

I have read all your history and queries and come to the conclusion that you are having sinusitis with allergic rhinitis.

Your sneezing with runny nose (discharge from the nose) could be due to rhinitis
(allergic or infective).

Runny nose is mostly due to viral infection because of our low immunity or allergic to certain substances like dust, pollens or grass.

You can take symptomatic treatment whenever you are having troublesome symptoms.

1) Take antibiotics (quinolones like ofloxacin or macrolides like azithromycin) to prevent super-infection.

2) Take antiallergic drugs like antihistamines (cetrizine or levocetrizine) with mast cell stabilizers( montelukast) to combact allergic symptoms.

3)Take decongestants like phyenylephrine if you have congestive symptoms in nose or throat.

4) Steroid nasal spray like rhinocort, flonase or beconase.

5) Nebulisation twice daily with saline or take steam inhalation 2 to 3 times a day.

The best way to cure allergy is to avoid contact with the allergen,so you can make out which particular substance is causing it and try avoid contact it.

If still problem persists then you should consult ENT specialist who can recommend you certain blood tests with ESR and X-ray of face to make a diagnosis clear.

Hope this information will help you.If still any query then you can ask me.

Regards,
