Suggest Treatment For Persistent Rectal Pain

I have been experiencing rectal pain for 5 months. I saw a colorectal surgeon. He first thought it was due to hemorrhoids. After a thorough sigmoid exam he felt it may be due to rectal muscle spasms from sitting at my job. He put me on Valium and Motrin for 10 days. Said I might need PT for this. I want to know if there are any other problems that could cause this pain. The medication isn t helping much. PS I am not overweight, 115 lbs and 65 in.

HI
Well come to HCM
I really appreciate your concern, per rectum examination is unremarkable and given medicine fails to work then it is time to get done the imaging study till then "Tab Chlorzoxazone with Acetaminophen" can be tried, abscess formation need to be ruled out it is also advisable to get done the routine blood examination hope this information helps, take care and have a nice day.
