Suggest Treatment For Persistent Gastric Reflux Symptoms

I'm a 62 year old male. For 30 years I have experienced heart-like symptoms that have always been ruled out in favor of gastric reflux issues....except the one time when it was a heart attack. I have spent numerous nights in ER observation and have had probably 20 cardiolite stress tests, with subsequent visits to my GI doctor. Based on my internet browsing, I'm concluding that these symptoms are probably related to vagus nerve stimulation. I've taken every one of the reflux medications over the years...and they all seem to work for a while controlling the rolling, lurching and effervescing chest feelings that I get. Currently I'm taking 60 mg dexilant. I'm afraid it's effectiveness is wearing off as I'm now having regular heart-like symptoms again. I do have a minor hiatal hernia that has been shown on a few upper GI endoscopy studies, but its been recommended that I not have it surgically repaired. My cardiologist is now evaluating me for pericarditis. My GI doc just keeps telling me to take reflux meds. Can you give me any guidance as my anxiety is high and my quality of life is declining. Thanks.

Hello
After going through this report I would recommend you these measures :
Try raising the head of your bed about 4 inches with blocks. It might also help to avoid eating or drinking for 3-4 hours before you lie down. To help control stomach acid one should not drink alcohol or drinks with caffeine in them or eat pizza, burger , spicy or greasy or fried foods.
As you are taking dexlnasoprazole , take it on empty stomach . Beside also take rebamipide 100 mg 2 tablet twice in day on empty stomach.
Since this is a prescription medicine , so consult your gastro and discuss.
Now about pericarditis , if your cardiologist suggest then deal accordingly but before any step , consult one more cardiologist and get his opinion.
Vagus nerve stimulation may be the reason of such symptoms but in my opinion these reasons also may be responsible for your problems.
1 Tension , no doubt due to these you are under tension but try to relax and recapitulate all thing .
2 As I have noted in my so many patient that some times over eating produces such symptoms so be careful .
Hope this will help you.
