Suggest Treatment For Persistent Diarrhea After Taking Metamucil

I have had diarrhea very watery stool for about 2 weeks, as of last night I have been having heavy bleeding I have not been pushing hard? It is bright red! I used Metamucil the last 2days to help the watery stool, I feel sick to my stomach, I found a black sunstance in the cap of my water bottle, which may be mold? I have stopped using it and was wondering if that could be a cause? Forget it I ll just go see my Dr tomorrow!

Hello,

think you should do a stool culture immediately.

It seems like you are suffering from an infection and may need to get cured with antibiotics.

I don't think this is a fungal infection.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Olgeta Xhufka , General & Family Physician
