Suggest Treatment For Persistent Cough, Sore Throat And Fever

I am looking for a doctor to treat ongoing symtoms of mucus buildup, cough, stuffy nose, sinus issues, sore throat and fever. Saw my PCP two weeks ago. After taking antibiotics and prescription sinus meds, there has been no improvement? what do you suggest?

Hello,
Thanks for trusting Healthcaremagic!
I have gone through your query and I can understand your concerns.

Chronic cough needs detailed evaluation. I suggest you to consult a physician and get the following things done:-
(1)- Get a chest X-ray done as a preliminary imaging to rule out lung conditions.
(2)- Do sputum examination to rule out tuberculosis.
(3)- A short course of antibiotic therapy for five to seven days may be needed. Levofloxacin is highly effective for respiratory tract infections.
(4)- You can try an expectorant cough syrup to clear of mucus and secretions.
(5)- Antihistamines and nasal decongestants can be used for symptomatic relief.
(6)- Do warm saline gargles and steam inhalations.

Hope I have answered your query.
Regards.
