Suggest Treatment For Persistent Ant Thrush

Had persistent ant thrush (even after using nystatin) four four months, tired, constipation, nails are brittle, occasional ring worm (not from animals). My doctor has me on a corn, soy, dairy, gluten free diet (three weeks) and eating very little sugar.

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hello,

As per my clinical experience, chronically non healing anterior thrush may be suggestive of underlying:
- HIV or AIDs
- Leucoplakia
- Other immuno compromised states
- Uncontrolled diabetes level
- Severe deficiency of vitamin B12, zinc, vitamin c, iron or others

Obviously the management depends upon the underlying cause and hence the diagnosis is mandatory before jumping on to the cause.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Bhagyesh V. Patel, General Surgeon
