Suggest Treatment For Peripheral Artery Disease And Swelling

I m already taking furosemide 40 mg, I have also been prescribed spironolatone 25 mg following surgery two weeks ago. Do the two drugs do the same thing? Plus or minus of either? I have peripheral artery disease in my lower legs and I ve been taking the furosemide to help eliminate swelling. I was thinking or upping it to 80 mg because I ve been having problems with my legs lately.

Hello,

Peripheral vascular disease may not treated with diuretics unless you developed fluid retention. Please post your disease properly. If you have deep vein thrombosis then foot end elevation and oral anticoagulant is used.

If your having arterial disease used oral anti-platelet with phosphodiesterase inhibitors may be useful.

Please consult your physician he will examine and treat you accordingly.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
