Hi & Welcome to HCM.
I appreciate your concern for the painful Bartholin's abscess.

For small abscess the use of Sitz baths is found to be effective.

Fill the tub with warm water only up to hip level and soak in 3-4 times a day, for at least 10 to 15 minutes each. It may take many days of Sitz baths to treat the abscess because the opening of the Bartholin’s gland is very small and it may close before drainage is complete. A Sitz bath can soothe your pain and discomfort.

If the abscess is very large or small abscess which does not subside with the use of Sitz bath, consult a surgeon for proper clinical examination and surgical drainage of the abscess under the coverage of anesthesia and antibiotics.

During the surgery, an incision is made in the abscess and a catheter is placed inside to drain the fluid. The catheter may remain in place for several weeks. Once the abscess has healed, the catheter can be removed by a surgeon or allowed to just fall out on its own.

Hope to have answered your query.
Regards.
