General Surgeon 's  Response
Hi,

You have difficulty and pain while running, small pea sized swelling that feels bruised.
All these things in presence of normal X-ray of the feet indicate one of the follwoing possibilities:
Tenosynovitis causing hte swelling and pain while running.
Infected cyst.
Hence I would advise you the following:
Take an anti-inflammatory like Ibuprofen if it suits you.
Give rest to the part by not running.
Apply elastocrepe bandage for support.
Hot fomentation in warm hyper tonic saline water can help a lot.
I hope this will resolve our problems.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
