Suggest Treatment For Pain In The Knee

I have had a small amount of discomfort (not really pain) in my knee for a long time. Not often. Itg always went awaya. but in the olast couple of weeks I had guests from out of town. We did alot of walking andmh knee was hurting, butg I kept right on until it was really vbery painful. Since then (lastg for days or so) I have been keeping off my that knee as much as possibole. It haws improved a great deal, but it is not gone. I thibnk I should stay off itl I donot like to take any drugs at all. Do you think my instinct to stay off it and give it a chance to heal is a good idea? Ghe rest of me is in good conditiion. I have always been active and am anot overweight, donot use anay akind dof d rugs or even coffee. Your opinion?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

As per your history, it may be due to osteoarthritis.

For further assessment, you may require an MRI knee joint after orthopedician consultation.

For pain, you can take tablet acetaminophen.

Use a knee cap and avoid squatting position.

In case of severe pain, you may require knee transplant surgery after surgeon opinion

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
