Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I have been to the obgyn serval times for this concern. Me and my husband will have sex and this doesnt happen everytime only sometimes... It hurts so bad that i will be in tears The pain is in my cervix... It feels like contractions and my vaginal opening seems to be dialated or open more than normal. And the pain last for 2days so far. Nothing helps the pain. The obgyn says they dont know why it hurts. Also we have been trying to concieve for 4years now and have had 5 failed pregnancies all ending at around 6 weeks. What do you think could possibly be wrong? Why am i in so much pain.
Dyspareunia i.e. pain during sexual intercourse is related to certain medical conditions which need to be ruled out. I suggest you go for a USG abdomen and pelvis. You can use lubrication or topical lignocaine gel during sexual intercourse as it may decrease the intensity of pain and can take superspas if you experience pain after sexual intercourse. I don’t know if your obgynecologist has done the karyotyping of the dead fetus to know the cause of pregnancy loss. if not done then talk to your doctor about the same.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Naira Jahangir, OB and GYN Specialist
