Suggest Treatment For Pain In The Arms

A couple of weeks ago I was getting out of bed and I raised myself up using my arms and I popped my right arm. I heard the pop. Woke up with it hurting. I can hold it straight up just fine but if I try to move it to the side(like to fasten a seat belt) the pain is almost unbearable.

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hello,

It could be a simple muscular pain. As a first line management, you can take analgesics like paracetamol or aceclofenac for pain relief.

If symptoms persist you can consult an orthopaedic and get evaluated: In that case, an MRI scan will be helpful.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
Dr Shinas Hussain, General & Family Physician
