Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
For the past 3 weeks my right knee has been bothering me as I walk; especially as I m taking a step in the swinging out motion or moving an object to the side with my foot. It feels like it s locking or freezing in place with a significant amount of pain until I work it out carefully. Sometimes it will pop like a stiff knuckle. Someone suggested it s a possible torn meniscus? What do you think? And also, will it work itself out with time?
Hi, you have not mentioned your age. If you are elderly then there might be having osteo-artheritis changes in knee joint or formation of osteophytes might cause lock joint giving this problem. In young age there might be having accidental injury producing meniscus or ligamental tear or lax joint muscle. Consult orthopedic surgeon and get examined. Pateller exercises will help to relieve pain. Ok and take care.
