Suggest Treatment For Pain In Elbow Due To An Injury

Injured right elbow 7 weeks ago had sharp pain when resting on it. Was able to play tennis and golf with elbow once a week. Have desk job 2 inches above elbow became discolored in week 4 since has disappeared today elbow at point has swollened did rake leaves yesterday. Is this infectious bursutitis

Thank you for the question.I would suggest hot fomentation for 10 mins. twice a day andapplication of omnigel locally. also ibuprofen 400mg thrice a day after meals for 5 days.To know for bursitis, an ultrasound or MRI may be done and aspiration cytology of fluid. If infected, a course of anti-biotic like ciprofloxacin 500mg twice daily for 5 days.If bursitis confirmed then excision is advised .If not , then local infilteration with hydrocortisone acetate mixed in xylocain 2% once a week for three
