Suggest Treatment For Pain Due To Knee Injury

I fell off a plastic chair and hit the lateral side of my knee on the chair about a week ago. I applied ice on it the first day and up to two days later. I am able to bend the knee and bear weight on it, but it is still painful to walk on it and bear weight on it. I am 59 years old. Any other care I have to do, or just wait over time for it to get better. I think I might have bruised it but no discoloring of the knee. Thanks for the input.

Hi and welcome to HCM. Your age is a risk factor and even small fall may cause you more injury. U have tried the first aid treatment like applying ice and rest. If their is no swelling and pain not severe you can observe for 2 more days and then consult a orthopedician, in the mean time take tab Hifenac 100 mg 1-0-1 after food for 2 days, continue ice packs on knee and rest the knee. All the best. Regards
