Suggest Treatment For Pain Due To Inflamed Stomach

Have had an endoscopy recently for long standing Gerd & gastritis. . Was switched from Losec to Nexium a year ago with out improvement & since endoscopy the Nexium has been increased to 40mg twice daily because the op showed that my stomach is inflamed. Since increasing the dose of Nexium my pain is much worse, & am trouble eating. What should I do?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,

Based on the history you have shared, the gastritis is not easy to treat just with medications. You need to continue taking Nexum, it will decrease the acid production in the stomach plus a good healthy and spice free diet is what you actually need. Avoid coffee, tea, cold drinks and all spicy and oily foods. Take salads for few days and your stomach inflammation will go away.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
