Suggest Treatment For Pain And Soreness In The Ear And Jaw
Hi, a few days ago I woke up feeling pain and soreness from my right ear to right jaw and the right side of my neck.. the ear pain has subsided but under my ear and my jaw are still painful (especially when I swallow and also if I swallow with head turned to the left) I do not have a fever but when I swallow the pain shoots from my jaw to my temple. A few weeks before this occurred I had a subtle earache/fluid in ear/clogged ear and the top of my right eyeball was feeling bruised if I touched it gently. I thought maybe an ear infection but as I said no fever and ear pain subsided for the most part. The night before I woke up with jaw, neck, ear pain I was eating a very chewy food (lobster tails) and I can remember my jaw getting tired but no pain.. I know.. I m a bag of problems lol.
So the symptoms which you described are suggestive of a middle ear or eustachian tube infection. You will require a short course of antibiotics and decongestants. You will be fine in a coupe of days.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Take care
Regards,
Dr Loveleen Sharma, General & Family Physician
