General Surgeon 's  Response
Hello,

It seems like the keloid is infected. Antibiotics has to be started preferably amoxicillin. Topical antibiotics like mupirocin can also be applied after cleaning with soap and water. If symptoms persist, it is better to consult a physician and get evaluated. In severe cases steroid injection the lesion will help to shrink the keloid. But it can be done only after the infection settles.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Shinas Hussain, General & Family Physician
