Suggest Treatment For Numbness In Leg When Suffering From Sciatic Nerve Pain

My husband has sciatic nerve pain and now has numbness in leg and foot drop (after seeing physical therapist last week). Those conditions developed AFTER seeing the PT. He's seeing a chiropractor today (& chiro says only way to "fix" prob is to get spine back in alignment - but PT says don't do an adjustment). Our family Dr took xrays a couple mths ago -- and Jay's seen him twice since - but they haven't ordered MRI or any add'l diagnostics. We don't know what to do -- as we're getting conflicting info from professionals, and we don't want to make this worse. I'm concerned that the nerve is going to be damaged beyond repair - the longer this goes on.

Hi,

Thanks for your question.

After going through your question, I feel sorry for your husband.

I would like to advise you to consult orthopedic surgeon or spine surgeon as early as possible.

Your husband need hospitalization and further evaluation.
He needs detailed clinical Examination to assess nerve damage
MRI lumbosacral spine should be done immediately.

Depending upon clinical Examination and MRI finding he may need surgical correction of spine.

Till surgery he may be benefited by traction and high dose steroid.

Hope this helps you, if so do vote.
