Suggest Treatment For Nausea, Headache And Lower Back Pain
I have had my IUD (Liletta) for 7 months and I think I may have BV (for the second time in the past 3 months. I also have very bad nausea, headaches, abdominal cramping, and lower back pain. I also spotted after intercourse and then a few days after. I have taken 2 pregnancy tests to make sure my birth control hasn t failed and they were both negative. What could be causing this?
Hi, Thanks for posting in HCM. I understand your concern. Liletta is a 'levonorgestrel-releasing intrauterine system'. It is a hormone-releasing system (IUD) placed in the uterus to prevent pregnancy for as long as up to 3 years. Symptoms what you are experiencing like nausea, headache, abdominal cramps and low back ache could be associated with the presence of the device itself. However, such symptoms generally subsides by 6 months. Since you are still experiencing such symptoms along with spotting following intercourse even after 7 months, it would be advisable for you to get the mode of contraception reviewed by consulting Gynaecologist and choose the one which would suit you. Hope the information provided would be helpful. All the best.
