Suggest Treatment For Nausea, Ear Pain And Headache

Every so often, somtimes monthly I get to feeling bad. Starts with a headache, nausea, then within a few hours or day a severe earache one at a time. The other ear will start aching 12 to 24 hrs later, never at the same time. I m usually bed ridden for 2 to 3 days.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello. That sounds quite uncomfortable.
Earache can be commonly seen as result of infections of the ear or that are spread from the nose/ throat. Sinus infections or impacted wax can also result in earache. Some of the signs of ear infection include redness, pain, difficulty in chewing, hard of hearing, discharge, etc. An ear examination would be needed to rule out any underlying abnormalities. Trying to use coconut oil, olive oil, rubbing alcohol and getting a syringing may be needed. Avoid taking a hair wash, using q-tips, keys or hard objects to clean the ear forcibly. Get an ear examination as early as possible. Over the counter pain medications like acetaminophen or ibuprofen can help with temporary pain relief.
