Suggest Treatment For Nausea And Chills

My son, 31, has been having stomach problems for about a week. He feels nausceous almost all the time, his mouth waters, and he s thrown up a few times. His appetite is down so he s not eating that much. He s been having chills at night and can t sleep that well. His bowels are OK in that he s been having normal movements that aren t diareah. He says he just don t feel like himself. He works evenings as a server in a restaurant in case that helps. He hasn t contacted a doctor because he doesn t have insurance but I told him if he doesn t feel better in a few days that he needs to go. Maybe you can help. Thank you.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

The symptoms of your son seem to be related to a gastrointestinal infection. I suggest using over the counter option like Reglan to treat nausea. I also suggest using daily probiotics and drink liquids. He should see a plain diet.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
Dr Dorina Gurabardhi, General & Family Physician
