My grandson, age 9, is on Risperidone 3mg and Lamectal ,25 or 25. His behavior has become more aggressive. He is now overweight and has feminine tendencies. His hygiene is poor and seems to care about nothing but having his own way. He will hit and become very angry if things are not his way. His dad, now divorced, physically abused him 3 years ago; told him not to tell mommy. When he told me, we called police and dad denied it and CYFD believed him. That is when grandson became ANGRY and was unable to stay in school. He was combative and destructive. The doctors say he now has a mood disorder. The medications are not helping. He is worse now than 3 yrs ago. His mom has had him on some kind of medication since he was 5. She started with melatonin, then psychiatrist prescribed psychotic medication. She said he was hard to handle, but no one else had any trouble. Could this psychotic medication cause problems through side effects? He keeps getting worse. I feel like he should be removed from medication to see who this young boy really is. He is not autistic and for the first 4 years of life seemed very normal to me. What do you think?
