Suggest Treatment For Lung Cancer

Hi Krueger,

hope you are doing good,

Here is my query, my mother had Non small cell lung cancer, we were given the option of going for chemo combination of Gemcite with Caroplatin. We went for almost 3 rounds of this chemo. But the symptoms didnt improve much though it acted and helped in reducing the pain factor it didnt help in extending the life span. After the initial discovery of the cancer she managed to live with chemo intervention only for 8 months. My questions are

1. Was it correct option of medication which we tried?

2. Is such cancer heridetiry, should family member get themselves checked ?

3. Why did she get this cancer when she was non smoker?
